Toys for Tots

In our efforts to spread Christmas cheer and to help ensure that we support children in our community, Damascus Missionary Baptist Church Youth Council will partner with Marine Toys for Tots and serve as a distribution center for children in need in our community.

  • The first phase, is the application phase. We will begin taking applications on Saturday,  November 9, 2019 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m in the Fellowship Hall from families in need.  The Damascus Youth Council and other church volunteers will assist families who provide required documentation with the application process.  Applications will be accepted for children from newborn to 14 years of age.

  • The second phase involves submitting our request to Toys for Tots with the amount of toys needed by the age and sex of the children.

  • The third phase involves picking up the toys at the designated time from Camp Robinson and sorting toys by age and sex.

  • The fourth involves contacting parents with the date and time to pick up toys from Damascus Church.

  • The fifth and final stage is the distribution of toys to families.   Each child will receive two toys. (TBA)

Finally, church members may also donate toys to help supplement the donations received from Toys for Tots.   A box will be provided beginning in November

The Pine Bluff (AR) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is partnering with the International Women’s Forum – Arkansas (IWFA) to host a Day of Dignity in Arkansas. The city of Pine Bluff has been designated as a target city. The purpose of the partnership is to collect feminine hygiene products for middle school age females in Arkansas.

Research has found that female students miss valuable learning opportunities because they do not have the needed feminine hygiene products. A collection box will be placed in the South wing (Rooms 6 and 7) for your donations. You may donate starting Wednesday, October 23, through Wednesday, October 30. Our church family’s donation will be delivered to Saracen Landing on November 2nd for the Day of Dignity.

This is not raising money for a particular organization but is fulfilling a very “Hushed” need in our communities.

We sincerely appreciate any and all efforts to aid us in this purposeful endeavor.
